Hello.
Does anyone know of an eccessible mud client for mac OSX?
The client I have heard of is called atlantis. I have not tried it out yet to see how accessible it is. Looking forward to hearing from others on this subject.
where is it?
atlantis is nice but it has one major downfall, voiceover can't read the incoming text as it comes in. you have to go to the output area to see anything that has come in. if they would fix that one thing atlantis would be amazing for muds.
so for that, is that tyhe only solution?
Tintin works, though like anything done in termonal, vo reads what ever comes in next, rather than lining it up to read after what its already reading.
So, for instants, you could be reading a mail on a muds list, only to get it cut off when ever something in the environment changes, or someone posts on a net, or what have you.
are those the only 2 solutions? if so I'll have to use my xp vm to play muds.
the mac just doesn't work that well for mudding at current. if you can get your xp vm to work fast enough for mudding that's your best bet at present
Aren't Mac people just too cute and cool for muds?
OK mac people of the pre-OSX days. Kidding aside there may be one but they may put it under such a cutie-pooh name nobody would recognize it for what it is.
Yes! Yes! Yes! i found one! here is an accessible mud client for mac OS. it's called tintin. i have not tried it yet but, yeah, it works with voiceover.
tintin@sourceforge.net
if any of you try it first, by all means, post tips and tricks.
after someone said it's a terminal app and the output gets cut off.
when I connect to muds on the mac with telnet, the problem I have is that Voice Over interupts itself. For example, I might be reading the properties of an object on my MOO, and when someone connects, the wizard notification system I coded in interupts the property list. I'll do a little experimentation on the mac and get back to you. I mud on either my windows box, or I hooked speakers and a keyboard up to the server and just telnet to localhost server side.
